Footsteps echo in barren hallways Some places left undisturbed Cobwebs flutter in imagined currents From a whisper or a muse Shadows pass from stillness to movement Hope of a garden or maybe a graveyard This past has passed And it can't be held back This place has crept through me A place to habitate Footsteps in hallways and Dust can't conceal them now Footsteps in hallways and I can't forgive myself Murmurs echo in cupboards and stairwells Catching movements in corners and doorways Intrusion of judgements Failure in nervous systems One moment or appearance and self-awareness One moment, then on to disintegration This past has passed And it can't be held back, no! We felt alive! This place has given me A place to habitate Drifting through walls and locked rooms Disrupting these particles This place has given me A new place to gravitate now!
