A little troop of Faeries Upon a summer night Went to take a ride While the moon was bright Caught their Faerie ponies Mounted on their backs Galloped over fences And over haystacks Lost in a wilderness Wondering where I am A feeling rarely felt By little Faerie friends Civilization overflow Spills across the land Find an ancient forest And enjoy it while you can Idyll Idun Singin' morning and noon Idyll Idun Rhyming the rune Idyll Idun A rapturous swoon Idyll Idun A springtime tune Here's to the Brownie way The jolliest of them all May their shadows n'er grow less Nor their girths grow one bit small Here's to the Gnomes May all their smiles increase May their lives overflow With sunshine and peace Galloped through the forest They galloped through the glen 'Twas a merry ride For every one of them Till they happened on the bank Of a baneful river This made them stop Or they'd gallop on forever Idyll Idun With companions of boon Idyll Idun By the banks of the Doon Idyll Idun By the call of the loon Idyll Idun In the light of the moon
