I swear my hair didn't used to have this many greys This haze is ageing me in several ways I used to play video games and stay up late The freedom that I had was rad, but now I'm just a tired dad Man alive, how did I spend the time without a baby screaming? Every night, bleary eyes, exhausted sighs, waking, changing, feeding Just when we'd settle into a rhythm, dishevelled, hopeful A new stage would bear its teeth Parenting is smiling while your hair turns grey The weeks blend into months then years Oh wait-it's only been half a day Tantrums, babbling incoherent nonsense Falling asleep on every surface And the kids are crying, too But who can blame us-we're parenting two Everyone asked us, "When are you going to have another?"
