Fly

Ever since I was a boy I always knew there must be more Than what this earth would offer me And who this world would let me be Lying in a field of grass Watching clouds as they move past Seeing people I once knew Disappear into the blue In windy skies and clouds In howling winds like funeral shrouds And dreams that blew away like litter on a windy day And all I want to do is Fly And lose my sorrow in the sky Cause the rain won't bother me But simply wash me clean And when I Fly will I see God And will He smile at me and nod Cause He knows how hard I've tried To drop my burdens and to Fly I'll thank Him for these mighty wings The courage to have faith and sing To leave the ground and soar and reach for Him forever more And all I want to do is Fly And lose my sorrow in the sky Cause the storms won't bother me But only set me free And all I want to do is Fly And lose my sorrow in the sky Cause the rain won't bother me But simply wash me clean
