A Typical Monday

The weekend's gone again, it was way too short And Monday came around, caught me off guard, of course No work on weekends, the machines all take a rest Last night shift starts on Friday, ends Saturday, we do our best Machines designed to run, all through the night and day But Monday mornings always bring, the same old disarray They start up slow, and time ticks by, frustration in the air Unnecessary hassle, it's more than we can bear Each Monday morning brings the same old grind Early shift begins, and peace is hard to find We try to get them running, but they sputter and they stall Time wasted and nerves frayed, it's the struggle of us all Machines designed to run, all through the night and day But Monday mornings always bring, the same old disarray They start up slow, and time ticks by, frustration in the air Unnecessary hassle, it's more than we can bear If only weekends were longer, maybe we'd find A way to keep these troubles far behind But as it stands, we face this every week A Monday morning mountain, at its peak Machines designed to run, all through the night and day But Monday mornings always bring, the same old disarray They start up slow, and time ticks by, frustration in the air Unnecessary hassle, it's more than we can bear Another Monday's here, and we push on through With patience running thin, but what else can we do We'll face it all again, next week without a doubt A typical Monday, we could all do without
