clocking in

this is the song i never wanted to write at some point i traded who i was for this life or maybe it was the other way around we all have a box we just need to fit in it it works to the benefit of the perceptions of society tell me who you wanna be i'll give you my idea of you then you have to work towards that goal admitting things that i would rather not cause maybe you'll find out i ain't what you thought pretty soon i'll be at a 9-5 wasting time until i die cause i got 40 years so much life is left to live i'm 25 and so sick of it but don't tell God or my wife cause if they knew how i was really feeling i'd probably find the guts to finally do it i wish that i could go to work without my family worrying cause horses nay and i write songs like this how can i just separate me the writer and me the great cause i'm ok- i'm just clocking in but writers have to write songs about them while Tom Holland gets to play SpiderMan yet no one really thinks he's Peter Parker a luxury he gets and i can't pretty soon i'll be at a 9-5 wasting time until i die cause i got 40 years so much life is left to live i'm 25 and so sick of it but don't tell God or my wife i guarantee people will still ask me if i'm doing fine when i'm ok- i'm just clocking in
