How Come?

I miss a certain feel I used to keep apart from all the rest in between the center console and the seat is maybe where it rests I was affable with half a skull and laughable at best you were respectable with spectacles and never left your nest I was in a colorful place and waiting for a voice to call my name I didn’t mind the silence only wished it louder when you came you were the one to pick me up then to put me down and offer me a hand I found it funny then but even now I still don’t understand how come all the blues get the best of me? I miss the old days when the music in your car was all we had living for the afternoons and evenings we always thought would last I knew it better then but didn’t make the time to let it in too busy writing songs and hoping that I’d find my head again how come all the blues get the best of me? Now is not the time to write my ode to self and list of all regrets I am better laying down and dreaming that our lives should never end It’s always a relief to find out you are not the problem it’s your head as long as you’re ok you’ll find a way to mess it up again How come all the blues get the best of me?
