I want to wander the East Side Sidewalks are wider down there Air hums much louder than uptown I need louder air Is it louder there Streetlights burn warmer on this Ave They shimmer and burst at the seam I am chasing a night from my daydream What better chase In that warming place Each band dresses tight on the East Side Each poet plays a manual machine I am living tonight I am hitting a stride I am draining the sap from the scene I want wander the East Side Will you meet halfway between My place and your place with your shoes on The hour of your choice In all that noise Leave all your worries behind and meet me Leave all your worries behind and be free I am dreaming a dream of the East Side I am weaving today with the past With each stitch that I sew of this garment I am dressed up right Meet me tonight
