Mountain

I am a mountain Standing against the wind I cannot begin to pretend that I can't be broken down Down I am an island Surrounded by the sea I cannot begin to see What you see in me I run from the thing that I cannot change and I run from the things that don't stay the same I run from the things that are changing without me Orchestrating them I hide my own thoughts in the back of my mind thinking if I could just stay there all the time Maybe then everyone will move on maybe they'll forget about me And I can finally sort my thoughts Clearly This isn't working Don't you want to destroy All of those things that I did That I do Don't you want to grow old eventually we all die any way so why not just live Today And I'll bury these feelings of wanting to be better I'll bury these feelings of needing to try I ask myself why does this matter anyway Don't you want to destroy all of those things that you did Don't you want to grow old eventually we all die anyway so why not just live For one more day I am a mountain Built up from the ground I cannot begin to pretend that I am not breaking down Breaking down now Breaking down now Breaking down now I'm breaking down And I run from the things that I thought that I knew I guess all along I was running to you Do you think you can help me through This all again
