Getting Old

I was dancing in the street Splashing puddles making heat feel like the cold And I was innocent and sweet And now I think i'm getting old I only had really short hair And my shoes were velcro cause I didn't know How to tie by myself I think that comes with getting old And I would run around just to chase a dream of friends Who would grow old and see me turn into a great man Who would love himself and life he hadn't explored yet Growing old would be fun again Growing up inside of east Spokane I pretended parks were my dominion But it was just my little game To gain the power I now proclaim And I would run around just to chase a dream of friends Who would grow old and see me turn into a great man Who would love himself and life he hadn't explored yet Growing old would be fun again I'm getting older now i'm feeling bolder now When I turned five it felt like it didn't happen I just turned seventeen i'm living my own dream And I didn't think i'd love how my life would happen Soon I will turn eighteen And I hope it is the best i've ever felt And I hope that i am strong And remember all the tough times that i've dealt I'm getting older And i'm getting older now
