Trapped inside the perpetuation of a consumer nation Inside this box I can't change the situation I need some breathing holes We're the first so we eat three meals a day When the third would be so lucky to have one What can I say? It's a tragedy There must be something that can be done Consumer society consuming the lives of all the people who can barely stay alive It's hear all over so we're all desensitized To the reality of taking the lives of our neighbors overseas But's reality so what can be done Consumer society consuming the lives of all the people who can barely stay alive I hear solutions from a million sources but none of them seem to make a dent What can I do poke my breathing holes in this box I'm in 'cause Consumer society consuming peoples' lives And all they wanna do is simple stay alive while we thrive
