You must be in a thoughtful place Well it seems to hit around this age when we stop and wonder"how did I get where I am" We were just kids since face to face But I've got to tell you that you're in good company cause I'm here thinking it too How we become like ghosts in our minds I don't know why some things don't change over time But it all comes back again, like some cosmic carousel And I wonder how much change you've done yourself No, it's not an easy thing, but I've managed just a few To get to know someone as close as you People come and people go At your doorstep with the morning sun then quietly they fade back into the night How many years will my face show Will you recognize the spirit that you knew so well all that time ago How we become like ghosts in our minds I don't know why some things don't change over time But it all comes back again, and I feel under a spell And I want to hear you say you're doing well And I'm thankful for the friends that I managed to have found It's good when old ones circle back around
