Dog Person

I have been trying to keep my dog alive She's grown old and she just wants to die I don't know if she knows what she means I'm just scared of the heavy way she breathes I just spent four hours on a whim Oh, you think I won't do it again Well I won't accept any action as mistake And I have been feeding her lots and lots of steak Yeah, steak I've been feeding her steak Oh I've been feeding her steak Lots and lots of steak Yeah I've been trying I been trying I been trying oh so hard but it's futile Can you taste the bile Can you feel the sweat, have you walked for miles, too slow But I'm quick, I'm quicker than you I've figured it out and I'm sicker than you But it don't mean a thing, if you don't got a clue If you're still running round giving dead dogs food I have been trying to keep my dog alive But she's too old, and old dogs have to die And I have been propping her eyelids up with tape And I have been trying to keep my dog awake
