Start From The End

I've exhausted all my options And I stare at what remains Walking closely with my shadow Hoping it might know the way Might be too much to ask Since there's nothing left to take Expand my state of mind But I haven't slept for days Homies tell me it's a process That some men were meant to fail Time's a concept we created Seems I waste to no avail I'm boxing in the darkness Find me losing to myself Getting closer to the coffin Find me driving in the nails I'm counting down the seconds Unsure of what awaits Told it's all been destined I ain't woke but I'm awake I've bit into the apple Wasn't tempted by a snake I try to catch my breath At the bottom of a lake If I wait a little longer I might just get some rest But Life has other plans I ain't good enough for death Fantasize about a life Ima never get to live I sit and start to wonder If I'm dreaming all of this A man with a family His kids having kids Just chilling with my lady As we talk and reminisce Seems to all fall in place This struggle worth the effort A poem after poem Turning words into a record I rise and I fall With my hand on the lever I walk and I walk Regardless of the weather Try to shut my eyes Going back into the dark Walking and I'm walking While I'm waiting for a spark Turning sorrows into passion Turning passion into art Always talking about the end Cuz I don't know where to start Many assume they understand Those that do don't say a word Hunger knows hunger But it also knows thirst Never able to escape My mind is my own curse Wont attend my own funeral But I might as well rehearse
