Keep it away from me Hide it somewhere in the past Where there's still something left to yearn Before it all comes crumbling down Just let me rest my eyes Just for now.... What I had I never realized It was the life of me The air I breathe, the spark inside me Let it slip through my fingers Disappear right before my eyes It wasn't my mind Ignoring tears on my reflection Truths unspoken lurking It wasn't my mind Suppressing signs of this infection Spreading like cancer each day Creeping behind me Memories of a tale forgotten A moment so mundane I can't recall no more Dormant Inside me Ash and ruin of a dream discarded A promise to myself I could not keep no more
