The gift of life granted to many But cherished by so very few And only when this gift is threatened Do we appreciate its value I go through life with this possession Consumed with sadness and depression Focus on all that is mundane And slowly, surely I go insane But when life’s hanging by a thread And I’ve brought demons to my bed Oh I’ve brought demons to my bed I fight with fury to survive Give my right arm to stay alive Give my right arm to stay alive Oh just how quickly I forget And once again I feel regret I fall back into old routines I let my life tear at the seams And once again the reaper knocks He’s gently playing with my locks Whispers directions for a path That leads through the valley of death And once again I turn and run Because my life has just begun Because my life has just begun How could I ever wish for death I cling with force to my last breath I cling with force to my last breath I crave for things to reminisce My first, my last, most tender kiss Mountains to climb, oceans to cross And put my footprint on freshest moss Life is a privilege to treasure To value fully without measure And if you truly value yours Then value other life, value it of course.
