Size Up

Been living inside of hand me downs Since the day I learned to crawl Cos' everything gets another go round When the wolves are at the door Threadbare shirt we were poor as dirt There was a lot of growing up into So I put a lot of holes in a lot of belts  Walked a lot of miles in a lot of old shoes When you're wearing a size up It's gonna make you wise up Gotta keep your eyes up  Give yourself a little room to grow into You better just size up If you're ever gonna rise up Or you're gonna get mixed up messed up  hard up scarred up broken and blue Never left the school of the golden rule  Held on to what was true It's hard to get too big for your boots When your boots are too big for you There were shoes to fill and sometimes the hills  Were more than I could climb You just dig a little deeper when the mountain gets steeper  and get there in your own sweet time  You better just size up If you're ever gonna rise up Gotta keep your eyes up  Give yourself a little room to grow into When you're wearing a size up It better make you wise up Or you're gonna get mixed up messed up  hard up scarred up broken and blue When the hills you've climbed make you feel inclined to feel like a hand me down Take a deep breath there's a lot of life left so take it for another go round I was bruised and battered I was torn and tattered like a washed up worn out shoe  Now I'm spending every minute of the rest of my days growing up into you When you're wearing a size up It's gonna make you wise up Gotta keep your eyes up  Give yourself a little room to grow into You better just size up If you're ever gonna rise up Or you're gonna get up mixed up messed up    Hard up scarred up broken and blue
