An apology (attempt)

I want to start, Start by saying that I love you. And I've been doing a lot of reflecting lately. This isn't easy for me to admit, But I think it's important to acknowledge. I've realized that I've been guilty of something that I never meant to do. Pretended to make things all about me, Even when I didn't intend to. And doing so I sometimes steamrolled over your feelings, Your thoughts and your needs. It wasn't fair to you, and for that I'm truly sorry. We've both been through a lot, And I know I haven't always been the partner you deserved. I've been friendly, kind, and chivalrous, But I now see that I often let those qualities overshadow your voice. I know how perfect you are for me, And yet I've made it about my own perspective too often. I want to do better. I want to be the kind of person who listens more, Who truly hears you and supports you in the way you deserve. I'm working on being more mindful, On treating others with the respect and consideration they deserve, Especially you. (Mmm) I'm sorry for the times I've let my actions or words hurt you.
