Down on the farm

The rooster crows at the break of day The cows all gather in the hay Out in the fields where the tractors roam This patch of dirt is what we call home Down on the farm where the stars shine bright We work all day and dance all night With the smell of rain and an open sky Our hearts are free and our spirits fly The pigs are rolling in the muddy mess Chickens cluck like they're trying to impress The horses gallop by the old oak tree They all belong to this family There's sweat on our brows and dirt on our skin But that's the life we've been living in The sunset glows as the day winds down We share our joys in this little town Down on the farm where the stars shine bright We work all day and dance all night With the smell of rain and an open sky Our hearts are free and our spirits fly The seasons change but the love stays strong The river hums that familiar song No matter where we wander or roam The farm will always call us home
