Sunday or the Day I Chose to Say Yes

Today is the first day of spring The trees have just started to bloom Light green winks at me from a peek in the window It is morbid to think that beauty will continue after me Today I want to be anything but morbid I want to be beautiful in the way I speak In the words I write I want to put aside the ugliness Give only the pieces of my heart that can be painted lovely I will say the truth of these things I only noticed the trees bloom I did not send them a careless thought or prayer But I will take responsibility for their beauty As if I too, bloomed them into existence
