I've never feared the things we don't know A story untold, crumbling in pace But when you're near, we both lose sight of A most unsure love, falling into place I'm looking forward to moving forward I spent this whole last year taking your orders It wouldn't be so bad if I had time to pick a path and call it mine but here I am So let's begin Well if I knew that this was all a lie, or fate being defended Why even try to solidify when all the pretty things are so open ended And even if I'd seen it all, my crystal ball has been out of service And lately late nights here without you are the only thing that makes me nervous I often wonder, while in your slumber Had you thought once or twice to drag me under? And I'm not saying your intentions were, or ever went misunderstood But I'm confused, you loved this too I waited, you hated the patience Frustrated, you hated the patience I didn't mean to pause things, I only had the best intentions I wouldn't say a waste of time, I'll settle at "distraction" though And I'd be a liar if I said I felt nostalgic Though the fruit punch flavored weekends make me miss my life a year ago Why even try to solidify?
