Running Off of Hope

I know better than I did back then Still don't know crap at least I know when To shut up and just take it all in To not try as hard and just ruin My chances at winning this game Cannot help but to feel ashamed Of myself when I stay the same Even when I try to change For the better, but I guess that's what life's about Disappointment, it's just not fair But I won't sit around and just cry About what I don't have and why Because I know that's no way to live I'll move on but never forget What events even got me here Shaped me into what I am Even if I am heartbroken But it's fine I'll get over it Wounds heal with time even if it Leaves a scar smack dab right there Where it hurts, but I'll still try to change myself For the better, I'll try to let go But chances are that I won't I'll hold on just for a little longer Running off of hope All I have is hope I'm getting over it I'm getting over it Am I getting over it (Oh who am I kidding) I'm not over it
