Santa Ana's racing through my yard Watching homes turn into flames Wonder if my body's burning up In a room I lay awake Feel my skin begin to open up Ashes filling up my chest Death descends to right the wrong Of a body that life gave All my crumbling ribs disintegrate As I break away and float Towards a different me, a different time Maybe there I'll feel whole Away from all the evil men Where a figure's form can change Where I wear my hair a little longer And my hips can finally sway Where the concrete rivers fall apart And some green begins to grow And the air has room to breathe again And a body can move slow All my friends are laughing at themselves Nobody wants to die And he softly takes me in his arms Suddenly I choke on smoke And I'm stuck inside this living room Slowly I'll decay All the hills behind the fence are scorched Just another average day
