And I was just like, ma, I'm just I'm not there right now, I don't really want to be in that, That moment, And uh, I remember my momma looked at me, I was sitting in her ch, Matter fact let me rewind right quick I was sitting in the chair She had a chair in her room that she called God's chair, it was Her altar, that's where God Sat when she wanted to Have a word with him, and I was sitting in this chair at this Particular time, and um, Just venting, letting it all out, and my momma looked at me and Was like um, "Son go for what you like." She said uh, dark hair and olive skin And uh, I remember I looked at my momma at that moment, and I was like, Momma, if the next woman I meet is Puerto Rican... I'll just go ahead and say it, my brother told me, The dating scene hard out here now in 2023, but anyway, Created a profile Followed up with what my momma had asked, tested the Waters, Had a couple of dates Did two My wife was my third, but My wife had a picture on P.O.F. that was always on the far right She was like the the last, she was never number one, Number two, she was always the last And then it was like, you know, P.O.F. at the time, they would Cycle yo uh Your compatibility Like, oh, these three, these three, every time you signed in, it was Something different, and um I just thought she was too pretty, but one, Nah, nah,naah, she was too pretty, thought she Was, she was very, she was beautiful, and her picture, it just Looked like an advertisement Her picture was the only one that had this little blue highlight On The outside, and She had a picture of uh, she was smiling, and she had a big red Flower, so it looked Like a little advertisement, like, you wanna, what do they call Them things, mail-in bride Something like that, so if you ever see her picture, that's what it Was, So, I never clicked on her picture, So one day, uh I hit my mouse, and the mouse landed on her picture, and it Was a profile, so I'm sitting there, a little taken back, like, Oh snap, So, you know, clicked on it, And first thing I see, as soon as I click on it, is her name, and Her name Was God's Grace Only you Said yes to all three of my Questions babe, Blew my mind away I wanted you to feel Secure when you say yes to me Wanted three questions to be the, Beginning and the end to misses So, yeah, I'm going through her profile, I'm reading everything, I'm already like, ah Man, like, for real, y'all, my reaction was like, Ah man, God's Grace she a church girl I ain't, I ain't feeling none of this. So I clicked on her profile, when I click on Her profile, I, what I'm saying, see, I'm lost for words right now, I click on Her profile I go through everything, I see her name, God's Grace, I'm all Bewildered, and I'm all losing It, losing my cool, because she a church girl, I'm like, man, bump This, I gotta get myselfright. So then I go in, and I leave, you know, that message, After going through all that Bull, I was like, all right, Left a message. Y'all know me, I ain't really, never had that Approach of being a dude with lines, I wasn't was my brother, that was him, Me, I just say it like it is, And I just imagined me introducing myself to her in real life, so I Typed it Like I would do it, Uh uh heeem How you doin'? Uuum not sure if you're into black guys, but you're beautiful And I hope you gain anything and everything you want in your Life, or you are successful At anything and everything you want in your life, that's what I Said, something like that And I sent a message, and uh And she replied. Told me she was giving me her email address, because The dudes on POF was, yeah, on that other stuff, So, did that We met up at Ale House I was late, y'all, Walked in, The waiter was talking to her, like, "Aye in a few minutes I'm about to get off, we can do our thing," And his boys was in the kitchen looking like Yeah, my dog got her, Then she saw me Only you Said yes to all three of my Questions babe, Blew my mind away I wanted you to feel, Secure when you say yes to me Wanted three questions to be the, Beginning and the end to misses So, I opened the door, See buddy talking to her, he got two homeboys in the kitchen They all looking like, did he get that number, he about to come Here, They both gleaming big, Like "my dog got her," I walk in, when I'm walking in, y'all, I'm thinking, Gotta go to the bathroom, never been to the Ale House, Maybe they got a wall, I could dip through that, go around the Corner, go to the restroom, come back, and then make my scene, Come in Like, oh, you know, do some awkward trip and fall, so that way, When I get up, I erase The embarrassing moment, because I'm already late, Uh the door opened, And she locked on me Eyes, her hands, sitting under her chin, Hair all down by her shoulders, she looking good Beautiful yo, So, Dude looking at her, His boy see me, I look at her, And then the waiter See her eyes leave him, and she stuck, and she's smiling, bigger Than what he had And he looked back at me, and you could tell, he was, yeah, it Was over. So I'm walking I sit down, And uh, We start talking, During the time we was talking, I think we was getting Close to wrapping it up, oh, before we was wrapping it up, she Had told me, Guess where She went to church, y'all? During our conversation, she said, I go to Celebration Church, Maybe You can come to that church, you ever heard of it, I was like, "Yeah, I know that church, I um, been to it," Y'all, I went, After me and her met, Me and my younger brother, we went The the sunday, after me and her dated. Just so I could be familiarized, and look where I'm Gonna meet her.
