In the darkness, I was very lost A broken heart which was the biggest cost All the love that turned into pain And left me feeling completely drained I tried to fight but I was really weak, My spirit broken, unable to speak I felt giving up, just letting go But deep inside I knew I couldn't let it show The nights were long, the days were gray I felt like I had lost all of my ways The emptiness consumed my soul I felt so lost, so out of control But hold on a minute, I think I'm getting there I got my smile back, my happiness back I'm feeling happy, so humorous! I'm feeling great, so bloody great! I'M FREE So damn FREE I am FREE I look back at the memories we shared, The laughter, the love, the way we cared The moment that brought up so much joy I cherish them like a precious toy But live goes on and so must I I can't let the past the consume my mind I must let go and move ahead And focus on the road lies ahead A new adventure, a brand new start, A chance to mend my broken heart To find myself and be who I am To reach for the stars and make a stand I'll take the lessons that Ive learnt along the way And use them to guide me each and every day I'll be stronger, wiser and more alive I'll create new memories as I strive I'M FREE So damn FREE I am FREE
