Another Weekend

Another weekend knocks on my door The usual plans on the agenda - f*ck all. Memories stalking my day Pointing and laughing Qith their spiral of remorse Like heroin it goes up then down Seeking the comfort of things gone They keep reassuring me new good things Will certainly come. I tune it all down a semitone Then go hunting for the next big chord I'll pick at random on the scale There's a market for everyone. I'll work my todos, what needs to get done Turn on the radio, the usual chores And then I just sit down and I wait Seems so fitting for these empty days Sunrise, sunset Deep space or the Mariana trench Really makes no difference to me Another one's gone, the sun sets down And all I did was this stupid song Next time I'll really change, I still say And just wait for another chance I look around me and there's no plus A frozen pile of dirt, a barren town Will this Winter pass, a falling star Just wait until Spring! Sunrise, sunset Deep space or the Mariana trench Really makes no difference to me
