INNER MAN

Man is tested when circumstances are manifested But one can persevere when he knows what he's been blessed with We're lost at sea, desperate to find land Like the blind man who was healed by divine hands Thoughts are scattered, intentions are complicated Innocence shattered, my inner man I often hate it Cursed with a heart perverse; it's our condition We'd rather be right than righteous in our positions Cynical, pseudo-spiritual, hypocritical Wickedness transferred through our umbilical Cord, we can't afford to live enslaved to our folly But the wool's been pulled over the eyes of everybody Hardened hearts go before our own destruction There must be a better way for all of us to function You and I, although we hold different opinions Love must honor each other's dominion God is true. Every man is a liar May righteousness be what we truly desire If I ruled the world it would fall to pieces So I ponder upon reality and call to Jesus God is true. I wish we never have to see A child abused, abandoned by his family Psychologically, so it's likely the cycle repeats Inherited by his own seeds. Who do we blame God, the system, or all the people who never intervened We yearn for justice, forgiveness, and love These three converged when God gave His Son If we say that "evil" is "good" and "good" is "evil" Then what does it mean when we refer to ourselves as "good people" How do we measure?
