Christmas Eve Woes

It's that festive time of year Yes, the holidays are here So keep your friends and family near And load up on plenty of cheer It's crunch time now, as I make my way to town The mall looks pretty packed, so I make my way around But I circle the parking lot again and again As soon as a shopper leaves, someone else pulls in It's December 24th and these are the Christmas Eve Woes Shopping at the last minute, this is just how it goes Fighting through the crowds is never any fun But I need to make sure I have gifts for everyone Finally got a spot and I'm going inside the mall I open the door to see it's insane in the hall Shoppers carrying bags and others squeezing past With shoulder-to-shoulder traffic, I'm going nowhere fast It's December 24th and these are the Christmas Eve Woes Shopping at the last minute, this is just how it goes Fighting through the crowds is never any fun But I need to make sure I have gifts for everyone I finally get to the store and find what I want Then I hop in line behind a kid and his aunt I look towards the checkouts and I can see There's close to fifty people ahead of me The line is hardly moving and I feel like a wreck When I hear the cashier keep calling for a price check An hour later, I finally get to pay Then I fight back through the crowd to get on with my day It's December 24th and these are the Christmas Eve Woes Shopping at the last minute, this is just how it goes Fighting through the crowds is never any fun But I need to make sure I have gifts for everyone
