Winter's Martyr

Of Winter's frozen pulse and heart of fire What loss is theirs who from thy kingdom turn Dismayed, and think thy self a living God Of death's seeking hand, this fire will burn These streams become the icy veins of life Carving their path through barren lands The fires rage beyond the river's path No bridge can spare us from the fury of His hand In the wake of this new world, designed by fire New life will rise to claim its throne A second chance to prove to God their worth Can we survive if left alone? Of this dark and cold winter No sign of life, no breath of morn All killers are born not created A gift to man from man Infused with suffering We're destined to die
