The story of my life, passed down in anguished glory Written from my strife, to future ages smitten By the cold-dark-loneliness, of my own mistakes Draped in rage and heartache The sweetest luxuries in this world, are the hardest to be won Overshadowed by debaucheries Vices spawned-by-his flawed creation The long cast shadows of our own temptations With cold eyes I feel you, while the consul spies at us through the keyhole In the night the libertine undresses me, forsaken vows, as sirens sing a bawd soliloquy Rococo art and gilded halls An eternal, hollow song A trance of divine-eloquence For an audience hidden in the walls In this world there is no such thing as destiny As we search in place for our own Divine, everlasting-ecstasy A pursuit for sublime, melodic harmonies Mechanical mistress, dance of death, an affair for the restless At the court, competition for potency, drunken games and grandiloquent poetry Alone at sea in an unquenched storm To the heaven's plea, for hopes long gone Wed to the sea Wed to the sea Masks of adorned illusion A masquerade of subterfuge and confusion Devoid never-ending consumption, The means to our own eternal destruction Ribald nights, twisted stories Lucid dreaming, empty meanings Climbing the ladder of nobility Confined to this cage of servility Wed to the sea! Wed to the sea Wed, wed, wed to the sea This icy tundra, life is depleted In this ninth circle, this frozen torment
