The Alder Tree

And in the end When life has passed Someone shall plant An alder tree above us And in its bark Carve letters and a heart Tiny marks Of lovers no longer apart The ties of life that kept us bound They will be severed, will be severed underground And in the end When life is through I will spent Eternity with you For though in life I could never be your bride In death I shall Lie forever at your side And people resting under the tree, in the grass They´ll never know what it all meant to us And people spotting the letters and the heart Will never know how we finally are united in the dark But our true love It will be sealed By all who kiss Under our alder tree
