The first of May I went swimming Across the waters swelling antipathy I found I was surrounded by Endless valleys, occasional ravines And I felt ecstatic, I almost cried No tides could let me drown this time I don't mind If there's something wrong with me But I will abide If there's something more you see And I felt it at dusk That the earth's become weathered Then everything had settled The first of May, there flew sparrows Across an expanse of air and land The moon shone a silver light My feet felt the bed of sand I don't mind If there's something wrong with me But I will abide If there's something more you see Is there more to this Then writing bad tragedies?
