Bartender said hey cowboy what will it be I said something to repair a broken heart I told him I was here from California To see if she will come back with me to make a brand new start She left me in LA for Oklahoma Said something about her friends and family I told him I believe love conquers everything And that old guy just smiled and said to me This isn't California cowboy it's Broken Arrow Oklahoma We don't even have a freeway here Folks got no reason to leave People know and love their neighbors And they need their friends and family Don't think you'll find what you're looking for But have a drink on me So she agreed to meet me at the IHOP But I could tell it wasn't quite the same There was still that spark in her eyes for me But with these words she blew out the flame This isn't California cowboy it's Broken Arrow Oklahoma We don't even have a freeway here I've got no reason to leave I know and love my neighbors And I need my friends and family There's nothing here that we had before But the coffee's on me And so she said goodbye and I just sat there And slowly took a look around And realized that some where else along the way I might've lost what that bartender said they found This isn't California cowboy it's Broken Arrow Oklahoma They don't even have a freeway here They've got no reason to leave People know and love their neighbors And they need their friends and family Isn't that all we're really looking for Why would anyone leave
