Chasing California

If I said it once I know I musta said it 100 times You can waste your life spinning your wheels chasing what's already inside Now I don't have a thing against chasing your dream that's what life is about But when it's standing right in front of you I just want to point it all out You can jump in your car and drive all the way from Maine to California Then way up to Seattle and way down to the end of the Florida keys And after you drive yourself crazy don't say I didn't warn you Because I know you won't find anything chasing California good as you and me So I'm willing to wait if you gotta go and see what else there is Kick out the jams shake the champagne till there's no more fizz Put the pedal to the metal search everywhere you want until you're satisfied And I'll be waiting here with open arms for the day you finally realize
