We could stay inside and watch TV We've got 500 channels to keep us from staring at the walls Or we could go out the front screen door Sit out on the porch and see how the evening falls I don't really mind whatever we do But just between me and you There's something I like about porches About rocking in the swing and holding you tight Watching the world in the soft moonlight go by There's some thing I like about porches Where there's plenty of dreams and plenty of time To talk about whatever we've got on our mind tonight There's something about porches I like We could watch the cat chase after fire flies Or we could chase the kids down and tell them the tickle monster got them Or you could laugh at me as I try once again To get the dog to do that stupid trick I thought I taught him Having you is what matters to me But if there's nowhere else we've got to be Did you see that shooting star Tonight I love things just the way they are
