When I See Texas Through The Windshield

Been driving Arizona on through California Trying to make Bakersfield tonight Then it's right back in the saddle to Portland and Seattle Man they got my schedule way too tight The road is getting blurry I'm getting in a hurry To get back to all the love I know There's a place in Amarillo with my name on the pillow When I see Texas through the windshield I'll be home When I see Texas through the windshield I'll be home When my tires hit those Texas roads I don't feel alone When that welcome sign comes into view I'm right there with you When I see Texas through the windshield I'll be home Sometimes the road gets lonely when my one and only Is far away beneath those Texas skies And I'm stuck here in Coeur d'Alene waiting through a freezing rain Dreaming of being in your eyes But for now it's on through Idaho down to Salt Lake City Where the mountains are as pretty as can be I know it's paradise to some but in my heart there's only one Place on earth that's everything to me
