Come now and listen to my story. Maybe you find it bittersweet The man of our story lives on the west coast with the whole world at his feet He meets a lady, graceful beauty. She is the one that wins his heart They fall in love and they get married and family they start Ah, but this is not where story ends Way far away in other city, a little girl dreams of happy life She longs for adventure, longs for joy. She longs to be someone's wife She grows up and she meets a good man. They get married and life is sweet They build a house, fill it with children. Everything seems complete Ah, but this is not where story ends Out on the west coast, children grow up, leave and start families of their own The man looks at his wife. She's a good wife, but not the lady he's known No longer does she touch him gently. He starts to wonder why she stays Finally, both see it time for changes. They go separate ways Ah, but this is not where the story ends Way far away in other city, the same situation, same sad song Adventure has faded, joy was fleeting. What seemed right is now wrong The woman's determined, moving forward, seeking out what she needs most She starts a new life, new adventure. She moves to the west coast Ah, but this is not where the story ends Out on the west coast, mystic karma, woman and man of story meet The talking is easy, void of trauma. They form bond that is strong He shows her adventure. She knows how to give the touch that's been gone so long Now they're an item facing future once again life is sweet Our lives are always a work in progress.
