He's got all his tools in his hand Smirks thinking 'bout the year ahead of him But the smile oh it fades away Walking out in his suit to a moonlit bay A little more sweat on his brow As the calendar's pages begin to fall The time he sees leaves a taste; sour As he swipes his card and heads out to the hall And he's swimming away but the work, oh, it's big as the ocean blue At 1:30 forcing a smile, while saying "bye" to his crew Just in peripheral vision a thick paper pileup He's sure he won't finish but it's expectation so sucks it up He's swimming away He's swimming away
