State of Nature

The sun has set beyond the grasp of our hands Alluring fog and shadows into our forsaken lands And while we hide inside ourselves, we close our eyes Remaining silent as we fear what might arise under the nightly skies As darkness rolls Over our modest homes We start to feel the reoccurring doubt That we won't live to see the dawn You either fight or you will die alone We are all slaves to our nature if we're on our own Only united there's a chance for peace If everyone has every right, no one is free  Do I hear whispers, silent steps or just the rain How can I sleep if I'm not able to control if I will remain My dreams are poisoned by frightful anticipation Of revenge by those for whom I caused demise and devastation  As darkness rolls Over our modest homes We start to feel the reoccurring doubt That we must fight to see the dawn  You either fight or you will die alone We are all slaves to our nature if we're on our own Only united there's a chance for peace If everyone has every right, no one is free
