Battling Demons

Shadows whisper in the dark, doubts they plant a silent spark "You're not good enough," they hiss, "Never will be, never will this" Life a battlefield, my mind the ground, a constant war with no sound Friends reach out, a hand to hold, but the whispers turn their grip to cold Battling demons, in my head they rage Filling my thoughts with a twisted cage Doubts and fears, a constant strain But I won't let them win this game Every sunrise brings the fight, pushing back the darkest night Building walls of reason strong, a dam against the tide of wrong But the cracks begin to show, the whispers louder than I know They chip away, my defences thin, pulling me closer to the sin The whispers echo, a chilling sound Threaten to drag me to the ground But I hear a voice, a faint reply Saying "You are strong, you can fly" The mirror reflects a stranger's face, anger burning, leaving no trace Of the warmth that used to shine, just a hollow shell, a twisted line The demons scream, their chorus swells, a symphony from burning hells Fear and fury, hand in hand, dragging me down this shifting sand Battling demons, in my head they rage Filling my thoughts with a twisted cage Doubts and fears, a constant strain But I won't let them win this game But deep within, a ember glows, a fire that the darkness knows Will not be extinguished quite, a battle cry in fading light I'll rise again, with strength renewed, this war within not yet subdued For even demons lose their hold, when inner fire turns brave and bold Battling demons, in my head they rage Filling my thoughts with a twisted cage Doubts and fears, a constant strain But I won't let them win this game No, I won't let them win this game This fire within, will burn the same I'll fight for peace, regain control My mind, my heart, will take back whole
