I Remember Zoey

How do I describe little Zoey to a heartless world. She's a brown bob girl that I came to meet. When she asked me I said "Just call me Pete". Then I would suck it up 'cause life was throwin' down rain. Then she'd melt right down from a life of pain, And change her name from Zoey to Jane. She said don't you call me Zoey no more, my name is Jane. Well it's as plain as Jane that she's going insane. Ain't that a shame. You know I never even really crossed the finish line, but she was fine. And my seven inch single was released that day. On her heart of grey. Zoey is a girl as pretty as the summer breeze. Then she was gone with the wind with a new I.D, And fresh hope for some sanity. And how on Earth did she settle on a name like Jane? Or should she change her name from Jane to Germaine, To save her from a life of endless pain? She said don't you call me Zoey no more, my name is Jane. Well it's as plain as Jane that she's going insane. Ain't that a shame. You know it doesn't matter where you go you're always there, So just beware, that where you hang your hat is where your hang ups end. That you can depend. She didn't have no wings to spread I say. But she had legs and they were spread that day. She stuck that needle in that groove somewhere. That seven inch single played rhythm to her snare. Well God only knows what became of Zoey now. Is she rocking the world with a selfie stick, Or is she mopping the floor like a good little chick? And I wanna know who's making her scream and moan.
