I don't check my Twitter much these days But nearly every time I do I scroll down until I find your name To see how life's been treating you I know you wish that you had stuck it out But I think that you were smart to leave No one told you life would be this way And you're not sure what you believe Well, here's my advice: Believe whatever makes it easier Whatever gets you through the day It doesn't matter if it's true or not If it can take the pain away Sugar pills can cure all kinds of things If the patient has a little faith Sugar is cheaper than amphetamines And that's to say nothing of the taste So I eat doughnuts and I pray for you I pray you find your way back home That you find a place to rest your weary head And that you don't feel so alone Believe whatever makes it easier (Just believe) Whatever gets you through the day (Cold and lonesome days) It doesn't matter if it's true or not (What is truth anyway?)
