I thought I was a needle I thought I'd found my groove The world revolved around me Birds and dogs would sing my tunes Turns out I was a needle Turns out I'd done some harm What I had thought were grooves Were really just veins in some kid's arm I wanted to die a martyr So I hired a lynching mob But I think I'll die a saint By the time they finally do their job Played fast and loose with holy scriptures Twisted the truth to fit my aims I claimed to be a Christian But I lied about my Christian name And I could never tell a bison from a buffalo I mean, why should names change based on where you go?
