When I was growing up at home A child I guess I never understood A world I didn’t know Was crying to be heard Above the hunger and the fear In time, I came to understand the prayers And to this day they pray them still The pictures that we see Don’t show all that they should It’s time we taste a bitter pill I don’t want to die Are the cries the children hide Maybe there’s time to save a few And both you and I Have the child that’s left inside Can’t you hear it calling you?
