Walking on the beach Along waves hitting the shore I found a note Written long ago To a friend A story told But never known But even so, I remember it all Remember it all Riding on the waves To see your pretty face In a dream I’ve had So many times Where you appeared upon the sand And held me like you had before We walked until The sand ran out The waves came in and out again We sang on the dock of the bay Riding on the waves I hope you’re here again Riding on the waves I hope you’re here to stay
