The world is speeding up And light's not the same When I look away Pictures of particles But I say Hello And you give me a wave It's true We trade our attention for tokens to spend at the zoo Your life is a canvas to paint red green yellow and blue You'll find me looking up Wishing on clouds as the wind blows to push them away Stained glass coffee cup The same sky of stars still thrills me today It's true We trade our attention for not much of anything good Your life is a canvas to paint it however you choose Well I've never forgotten your face The image still forms in my brain And I've always thought Isn't it strange How light behaves in different ways I'm slowly catching on To all of the things to do to fill up the day The path I'm walking on The path of the righteous or the path that leads to my grave The path of the righteous ends on center left stage So up from the flyrail we'll watch the play We'll watch the play Well I've never forgotten your face I build monuments in your name And I've always thought "Isn't it strange How light behaves in different ways"
