That was then and this is now Mistakes were made and those I do own But if you expect me to respect you After all that's been said and done Think again A defeatist mindset only leads to defeat Every time no matter how big or small There's no such thing as a quick fix Get over yourself, and get ready for the next fall I dreamt to be part of the 27 club I know their pain I know their sorrow Is there truth in these words Or am I projecting the past unforgiven Deepest feelings I can't quite admit Why can't I give myself some needed compassion Questions without answers always plague my mind Clearing this fog has become so demanding So many questions I don't want to miss Without them, do I even exist
