Explain Myself

Bit of an impulse; the starting of a trend And everything was fading as this all came to an end Where was the spotlight to counter my defence? But all their minds were made up; there's no preacher for penance Coz I'd like to explain myself again Where was the timing? And it couldn't come much worse We were all here wondering when our cars would be our hearse And see me exit in the grandeur that I dream I'd probably be so humbled with a modest legacy Coz I'd like to explain myself again Coz harsh words they leave marks like red wine stains on white T-shirts It's hard to wash them out, especially when they hurt And I never meant to cause harm or give you no offence Coz after all these words inside my head made sense I'd like to explain myself after the words come out of my mouth I'm constantly catching myself and others in a mirror that I can't depart Coz I'd like to explain myself again
