Far Beyond the Night's Embrace

My ever-weary eyes open wide I awake to this night so black My soul has been lost forever Tonight I will find what I lack Rumors spread like the ice And the frost on windows Fifteen years gone by in a flash And we are wilting like a black rose We've mourned the deaths of ones we never knew The brave souls that faded so fast And I stand beside their empty graves Wondering how long I'll last I have declared myself A nobody, born of a ghost The dream I hold tight within myself Will soon leave its host Echoes inside of me, screaming to be free They'll chase after the trails of Autumn The light has long left her, she's been consumed by cold Her life, it has grown numb Far beyond the night's embrace Far beyond the night's embrace A vision that yearns to see itself I will ignite the flame and be free Find a purpose in a life so cold If the path to Autumn is blind, then I shall see Preparations began long ago The night has dawned upon the land The sun has slept for years and years Though it is open, I will not take death's hand Yet has there been someone To fulfill their awaited task Though many believe Autumn to be gone I believe she hides in the forest, vast I approach the end of the village I've known I'll depart all I've ever known, this place My task must be completed, it will be soon I will travel far beyond the night's embrace
