You’re taught family’s a sacred thing That love and trust it should always bring So when a parent turns their back Your whole world begins to crack As children parents seem like gods So their betrayal shows this world is flawed That trust once broken cannot be earned An innocence lost that won’t return As your child I depend on you I need your help to make it through Your lies and anger make no sense What’s your excuse, what’s your defense? Did you ever even love me? Did you ever even care? All the memories now seem so fake Were you ever even there? How can you sleep so soundly?
